i moved to a condo with a balcony on which charcoal and gas grills are prohibited, but electric grills are permitted. after years of pleasure with my meco charcoal grill, i was prepared to be let down because electric could never be as good.

i am as happy with this electric grill as i was with my charcoal grill. actually, i am as happy with the grilled food as i was before; it’s the outcome which counts more than the process.

there’s nothing more i could ask for.

1. 15+ years ago I read tests that charcoal BBQ’s, really put “LOTS” of very bad carciniogens into your meat!

2. So I went to a gas BBQ. Not as good tasting as charcoal, but “SUPPOSEDLY” healthier?

NOT!- Now I read tests that gas BBQ’s are little healthier than charcoal. The “deadly” carciniogens are in the drippings smoke- coming from the hot lava rocks below!

3. So I now go to the MECO electric grill.

Pros-

a. Healthier- as virtually no smoke (grill/elements are steeply slanted, and drippings collect in a handy pan under the grill).

b. No having to mess with expensive propane gas…

c. Well made, and sturdy.

d. Low fire danger- Acceptable for most apartment complexes. ASK!

e. Sears steaks well (preheat on high for 15+ min, and close lid FAST! Requires a “Heavy Duty” electric outlet!). Cooks just as fast (or faster) than gas. BUT, “NO!” BBQ taste! You will probably need a marinade…

Good “web search” recipe I found for steaks…-

I pre-mix & rub in, a blend of-

salt (“AlsoSalt”- is very healthy and GOOD tasting!), black pepper, chili powder (all in equal parts…), and a little cayenne pepper. You can also add any other seasonings you like, to taste…

PAM makes a “High Temp” cooking spray, for the grill.

5 Stars Well constructed, easy to use
Ordered this while on sale for $250.00 with $100.00 shipping. Shipping was prompt and delivery company helpful. Took about 1 hour to setup, mostly screwing on panels and wheels, and was easy with good instructions. Grill has a 3/8 inch quick connect at the natural gas hose end. My home had a 1/2 inch gas outlet, so I needed to get parts at Lowes to adapt that (Note: don’t try this yourself unless you know what you are doing!) Grill preheats to 500 degrees in 4-5 minutes, cooks even and fast! Very happy with this purchase.

Heats up well, no issue with hot spots, great for parties on deck. Easy to put together – couple of the holes didn’t line up (had to enlarge the holes to complete). Image of the item never showed the back of the grill – behind the door is open to the elements (my old one was an enclosed cabinet) – would think all would be – Added a pice of aluminum cross the back to out (opportunity for the manufacturer).

Ordered and received in 1 week. Lid was damaged but 1 call to Ducane and they shipped a replacement. Other than that it is a substantially made, easily assembled grill.

4 Stars A word to the wise
I bought the Ducane Affinity 4400 but this grill is similar. The promotional feature of “porcelain-enameled heat distribution plates” is misleading. Please look at my review for the Ducane Affinity 4400 for information on Ducane’s “normal deterioration” of these plates from the moment the grill is lit for the first time.

4 Stars MECO ELECTRIC GRILL
We are so happy with this grill! Living in a condo and having it on our deck is the ultimate convenience in grilling. It was easier to assemble than anticipated and the quality of the grill is excellent. Of course the food doesn’t have that “grilled” flavor we were used to, but it’s very good and we’re going to try purchasing “smoked” chips for a different taste. I was a little hesitant ordering a grill on-line, but it was a very good choice and I would highly recommend it.

4 Stars Meco electric grill
I moved into a condo last year on the second floor and had to give up my gas grill (boo hoo) since the rules were that I could have an electric grill only. Found the Meco sight, purchased the grill with the rotisserie although have never attached it, it IS a pain in the neck to clean, the inside (aluminum?) piece right underneath the coils has warped from the heat to the point where I need a new one, and if I don’t wash it regularly (difficult to get in and out and you get very greasy) it catches on fire since the coils are so close. Ah well, that’s the downfall of an electric grill I guess…. Also, where the heck do I find those little drip pans that hang right underneath??? I put a wide dish underneath since I can’t find any and refuse to create my own and the splatters have just about ruined my deck. I guess I could find maybe a tupperware or something that has high sides that can catch those splatters… All in all, food doesn’t taste any different than a gas grill – charcoal I’m not sure – it does do a good job except for the messiness of cleaning it. I’m satisfied.

I was hoping for more of a grilled flavor with this but it is ok for what it is. You don’t have the dangers of gas or the mess of charcoal. Things cook pretty slow on it too. For the price I wish I had purhased a gas grill instead.

5 Stars Excellent purchase
This was a gift to my daughter and fiance. Aside from the little glitch of putting on the end caps for the wheels, this BBQ grill has been an extraordinary addition to the couple’s residence where gas/charcoal grills are a no-no. The size is perfect for their terrace, not intruding on their space, and the attractive appearance lends the perfect touch to their outdoor BBQ area. Just today I got yet another compliment from them telling me how much they love their grill. This, by far, has been one of the better gifts we have given to anybody.

5 Stars Couldn’t be happier with this grill
I have owned several Weber grills through the years and use them constantly during the summer and winter. When it was time to purchase a new grill I researched several Weber models but hadn’t heard of the Weber Q series until I came across it on Amazon. After reading the many positive reviews I was intrigued but still not convinced. I continued my grill research and branched out to looking at other brands as well, but in the back of my mind I kept thinking I liked the Weber Q design, the minimal amount of metal (has heavy duty plastic shelves, stand and wheels) the hidden tank feature and the overall small footprint. So I ordered it. It is everything the description and positive reviews said it was. I couldn’t be happier and recommend this Weber model to any grill enthusiast out there looking for the perfect grill!

5 Stars Great grill, impeccable service
I will be brief since many other reviewers have captured what makes this grill great. But I did want to share my customer service experience with Weber, which has been a pleasure. I ordered this grill from a different online retailer and when it arrived, one of the plastic legs of the cookbox part was snapped in two. I called Weber to get a replacement. They shipped me a new cookbox which arrived within two days and did not require me to return the defective one. When I put the grill together, I had to remove the burners from the old cookbox and install them in the new one. I had a question about how to do this so I called Weber again. They emailed me a PDF of the instructions I needed within 5 minutes. Both times I called there was very little wait and the person I spoke to was very friendly.

I am completely satisfied by this grill and would recommend it for anyone looking for a fully functional, yet relatively small and inexpensive gas grill.

3 Stars I’ll never know . . .
I hear that this is a great barbecue, but I guess I’ll never know. The first arrived with one broken leg, and its replacement arrived with two broken legs. The UPS man felt that the packaging was inadequate for the weight of the barbecue. Apparently Amazon allows only one replacement, so now I’ll have to find another retailer to satisfy my barbecuing needs.

5 Stars Great Gas Grill
We love to grill and were looking for a fast alternative to charcoal for the nights we don’t want to go to all the trouble. We picked the Q320 for the combination of size and cooking surface area. We are very happy. First assembly — my husband and 10 year old were able to completely assemble the grill in about 20 minutes. For them, this is quite unusual. The final assembled product was sturdy, level and looked great. We fired the grill up that night for a test run with hamburgers and were not disaspointed. The grill came to temperature, about 500 degrees, in about 7 minutes. The cast iron grates gave us plenty of room to work on and we were able to build that great burger “crust” on the outside while keeping the meat moist inside. The warming rack was a perfect spot to heat up and lightly toast buns. We have since cooked chickens, flank steak, salmon and shrimp with equally satisfying results.

4 Stars Cooks fine, clean up is a little difficult
While putting it together we noticed two little end pieces were missing, but that was of little consequence. Also noted…the hole that is for drainage to a little outside cup is up too high to be of any use. We put a sheet of aluminum foil to line the bottom to catch any drippings.

The tray is also hard to remove as directed. If the grid was set a little forward it would come out easier.

The unit heats up quickly and does a great job with steaks, fish. Did cook hamburger that wasn’t as lean as label said, and with the heat on high there was a fire. That can happen on any electric grill. I have another electric grill at different home and I like this one better. An improvement would be an outside indicator of what the temperature is inside the closed grill.

I basically like this grill a lot. It’s not expensive and does a nice job.

PAM makes a “High Temp” cooking spray, for the grill ONLY (leaves a “varnish like” residue on pans!).

AMAZING! CLEANING TIP, for burned on… foods!!! This works on ALL pans/grills…-

1. Clean/scrub conventionally…, as best you can.

2. Mix a little water with Comet, and make a paste. Wipe on burned surface. Place in a sealed plastic bag/garbage sack…, and leave for 24 hours.

3. Should now clean easily with Dawn & scouring pad… (may take two applications?).

4. Cons-

a. This is difficult and time consuming (2+ hours! & I’m VERY handy!), to assemble!

Tips- Pounding on the axel end caps was a challenge (finally laid it on it’s side, and put a 1/4 drive socket (for backing, on the other end)) & hold cap with pliers.

You will surely drop screws…!!! (I put an old sheet underneath it).

4 Stars EASY COOKING
Because we can’t have gas or charcoal we sought out electric and was surprized that it fits our way of cooking .It takes a little longer to cook but the wait is worth it . It’s all-round heating process makes life easier for us to cook . We love it . Thanks .Bob Boisselle, Elmhust N. Y.

1 Star SHIPPING SCREWUP
My first bad experience with Amazon. 3 times they sent me previously opened packages that were clearly beat up in shipping. The first time I opened the carton and found alot of sheetmetal damage, so returned the grill. The next two times the packaging was clearly incorrect and damaged so the shipments were refused. Shame on you Amazon for sending out junk, not once but time after time. Still hoping to get an undamaged grill! Minden Grill rated one star because being so fragile it clearly needs better packaging.

5 Stars A fine grill and a fine value.
This Minden Grill Company 30,000 BTU Master Grill has been working perfectly for me since day one.

I received the grill in after just a couple of days (with free shipping and no sales taxes). I spent about 3o minutes assembling it without the instructions (I was hungry and it looked simple). The grill looked great. The only problem was that I assembled one piece backwards so the hose would not connect properly. I had to rewind what I did and assembled it correctly (so follow those simple directions). Soon there after the Tuna steaks were cooking.

This quality grill has worked perfectly from then on out. It fires right up with the presto igniter. You can control three internal burners quickly get the temperature to the optimum temperature (temperature gauge works fine).

The grill is the right size for most families or get together, looks great (we went with the forest green) and is simple to work with.

I realize after it arrived that I had better then expected grill for the long haul so I came back to the site and upgraded to the bamboo cutting board (heck only $14), the side burner and a cover to keep this master grill looking good.

This grill is a solid value and I highly recommend it.
