5 Stars No more blackened mixing bowls!
Before I bought this for moving charcoal the three feet from the container to the grill, I tried using tongs. The little bits always slipped out, particularly when using lump charcoal instead of briquettes. Took forever, too. Then I tried using a plastic mixing bowl. I couldn’t get the charcoal to scoop well because the lip was too thick and the bowl wasn’t the right shape. Plus, the plastic is now scratched and seems to be permanently black at the top from the charcoal. Clearly not the best idea I’ve had lately.

This scoop solved all that. It is large, and seems like it would stop a bullet. It has a nice polish that looks nice, while not collecting charcoal dust. All aluminum means it won’t rust when left outside (as mine is).

Surprisingly good quality — it looks like it cost a hundred dollars at a specialty store. Would make a good gift, especially if you notice that the griller in your life has been scratching up the mixing bowls.

5 Stars Not just for ashes
I buy 50 pound bags of dog food and have been using plastic bowls to scoop out the chow into a bucket to carry into the dog pen to fill poochie’s dish. After going through several bowls which tend to crack and break, I purchased this aluminum scoop.

Hot dog, does it work so much better than a bowl!! It’s strong and durable and will last no doubt for many years. I didn’t measure how much, but the scoop holds a lot, and I can fill a bucket in no time.

What else can I say about a scoop? It’s strong, has a nice finish to it, it’s easy to use, and holds a lot. In fact it’s so nice, I’ll probably have to hide it from the Grill King so he doesn’t scarf it to use for the charcoal.

Took about 1 hour to setup, mostly screwing on panels and wheels, and was easy with good instructions. Grill has a 3/8 inch quick connect at the natural gas hose end. My home had a 1/2 inch gas outlet, so I needed to get parts at Lowes to adapt that (Note: don’t try this yourself unless you know what you are doing!) I highly recommend this grill. 3 Stars Shipping damage Great grill, cooks well, however… 1)Box arrived with exterior damage. The grill has a gash in the stainless steel lid. Now every time I cook I get to contemplate what CEVA trucking could have stabbed through the box. Weber could also do a better job of packaging so that the most visible part of the grill is not the front bumper for this type of abuse. If the package arrives in damaged condition don’t accept it. 2) Weber decided to put the in the clevis pins holding the lid to the oven with out the securing clips. The result is disastrous. One pin fell out during shipping. When the lid is opened it twists side ways and drops over the back, bending the sole pin 90 degrees. If this had broken the pot metal hinge on the oven it would be the end of the line for Weber S-320 3) Don’t undertake assembly unless you get a true sense of accomplishment from that sort of ordeal. Took about four hours. Get and electric screwdriver and a socket wrench. Good Luck! 5 Stars Top of the line Based on other reviews and the high caliber of the Weber line, I purchased this grill. The shipment actually arrived the day before it was promised. No damage. The instructions, once I figured out how to use them, were the best I’ve ever encountered. It took 10-15 minutes to figure them out, since they were pictoral and had virtually no narrative explanation. For each step, one had to consult three different sheets. Weber would do a service by including a sheet explaining this to the assembler. Once the assembly instructions were understood, it took only about 1-1/2 hours to put the grill together. The materials are solid, and the design is appealing. The grill works like a charm! Heat control is accurate. A nice cookbook is included, and it includes tips on how to maximize the utility of the grill. I couldn’t recommend it more highly! 5 Stars Wonderful , Even Cooking Grill! They shipped me a new cookbox which arrived within two days and did not require me to return the defective one. When I put the grill together, I had to remove the burners from the old cookbox and install them in the new one. I had a question about how to do this so I called Weber again. They emailed me a PDF of the instructions I needed within 5 minutes. Both times I called there was very little wait and the person I spoke to was very friendly. I hear that this is a great barbecue, but I guess I’ll never know. The first arrived with one broken leg, and its replacement arrived with two broken legs. The UPS man felt that the packaging was inadequate for the weight of the barbecue. Apparently Amazon allows only one replacement, so now I’ll have to find another retailer to satisfy my barbecuing needs. 5 Stars Great Gas Grill We love to grill and were looking for a fast alternative to charcoal for the nights we don’t want to go to all the trouble. We picked the Q320 for the combination of size and cooking surface area. We are very happy. First assembly — my husband and 10 year old were able to completely assemble the grill in about 20 minutes. For them, this is quite unusual. The final assembled product was sturdy, level and looked great. We fired the grill up that night for a test run with hamburgers and were not disaspointed. The grill came to temperature, about 500 degrees, in about 7 minutes. The cast iron grates gave us plenty of room to work on and we were able to build that great burger “crust” on the outside while keeping the meat moist inside. The warming rack was a perfect spot to heat up and lightly toast buns. We have since cooked chickens, flank steak, salmon and shrimp with equally satisfying results. User Ratings and Reviews 5 Stars Great Grill !!!!! Easy to assemble, worked immediately, gets super hot. I strongly suggest this brand, it replaced a 20 year old weber that still works! 5 Stars Weber S-420 Received the Weber S-420 in about 1 week after submitting on-line order. Trucking firm called to make an appointment and the grill arrived in good shape. Took about 2 hours to uncrate and assemble without too much trouble and it has worked perfectly since. For an upmarket grill from an established manufacturer, I had high expectations and they have been met or exceeded. I fully expect to use this grill for the next 20 years. 2 Stars Weber Summit Design Flaw This Weber Summit grill, as well as the entire Summit line has a design flaw that Weber refuses to consider an issue. Whenever it rains, water runs down the back and enters the internal drip tray, then flows into a drip pan, which then overflows a greasy water mess onto the cabinet floor. This problem occurs with and without the Weber Premium cover in place. (The cover has a mesh on the back that lets the rain in.) I give the grill a two star rating because it does do a nice job of cooking … once the mess is cleaned up. 5 Stars 20 Years Without Disappointment In October of 2007 we upgraded to the Summit 420 and gave my old Weber to my daughter. I’m just now writing a review of our new grill because I wanted to know what I was talking about. First I have to say, the old Weber (a Genesis purchased in 1987) was in top shape having only replaced the grills and flavor bars. Second I have to say, my new grill makes grilling far more relaxing regardless of what we grill. From catfish to the finest fillets, it provides the most consistent great texture and taste. The ability to adjust four different burners from side to side without moving the food is the magic in this grill. The grill is a perfect size for my wife and I, or up to 10 people. Chicken wings are the all time favorite in our family and on this grill I can brown the outside of the wing, fully cook, and then crisp them before taking off (not one burnt spot), without opening the grill but one time. You can cook brisket at 200 degrees, grill shrimp and veggies at 300, bake catfish at 400, and grill steaks at 500 degrees. The stainless steel grills are easy to clean, the light works great at night, and it sure seems like I’m using less propane. Service has always been awesome. I truly feel that if you were lost and you called Weber customer service, they’ll try to help you. As far as the downside: I haven’t found anything negitive from grilling on this grill at least twice a week for almost a year. 5 Stars Solid as a rock! After much reaserch my spouse and decided on the Weber S-420. So far, it has been excellent. It was delivered 98% assembled so as soon as we had the natural gas line hooked up, we were ready to roll. So far steaks, burgers and hot dogs have been cooked, all to perfection. Great grill marks, too! It cooks quicker than my former BBQ so I do have to watch it as things tend to get done sooner.
